Mine d’Or beach, the jewel of Pénestin

Ajouter aux favoris

Golden cliffs and sand as far as the eye can see make the Mine d’Or a unique and unmissable setting.

A beach spectacular

The Mine d’Or beach impresses with its high ochre cliffs, which change colour as the day goes by. It is 2 km long and offers an exceptional setting for enjoying the Atlantic Ocean.

The site owes its name to an old mine that was exploited in the 19th century, traces of which still remain.

Today, it’s a popular place for families to relax, laying down their towels or walking along the shore. The sunsets here are spectacular, with the cliffs ablaze in shades of orange-red. Easily accessible from the centre of Pénestin, the beach offers plenty of space for strolling, swimming and sporting activities. A breathtaking place, combining nature and history.

Activities for all

La Mine d’Or is not just a landscape to contemplate, it’s also a lively, friendly beach, an invitation to simple pleasures, between sea and horizon.

Bathing enthusiasts enjoy the ideal water conditions in summer, while families appreciate the large expanse of sand for games and picnics. The beach is supervised in season, making it the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

At low tide, fishing attracts young and old alike in search of cockles, clams and small crustaceans.
