Jardin d'aliwen, Marion Denécheau and Paul CamusThe earth4 hands
At Jardin d’Aliwen in Saint-Molf, nature is both producer and inspiration. Since 2021, Marion Denécheau and Paul Camus have been passionately cultivating a two-hectare organic market garden farm, where biodiversity and taste guide every gesture.
Marion, who trained as an agricultural engineer, made a real career change after several years in the corporate world, to get back to the land and the pleasure of creating with the seasons. Paul, who also has a passion for nature and sustainable agriculture, shares this vision and brings his field experience and energy to the project. Together, they founded the Jardin d’Aliwen, a place conceived as a living ecosystem where every plant, every vegetable and every gesture reflects their commitment to a world more respectful of living things. The farm’s name, “Aliwen”, means “sacred tree” in the Mapuche language, a powerful symbol that embodies their respect for the earth and their desire for plants, animals and people to coexist in harmony.
Marion and Paul favour old-fashioned, tasty varieties grown on soil that is alive and rich in biodiversity. Agroecology and agroforestry are at the heart of their practice: hedges, flower strips and trees complement the crops to create an ecosystem that is favourable to insects, birds and micro-organisms. Each planting is designed to enhance the natural fertility of the soil and the health of the plants. As certified organic farmers and members of GAB 44, their farm is part of a local and sustainable dynamic, closely linked to the local area.
