Accessible tourism

Ajouter aux favoris

As a tourist office with the Tourisme et Handicap label, we are committed to making tourism accessible to all. Adapted welcome, reliable information and accessible offers are all part of our priorities to help people with disabilities prepare for and make the most of their stay.

Accessible information offices

The Tourist Information Offices in La Baule, Le Pouliguen, Guérande, La Turballe, Mesquer-Quimiac, Piriac-sur-Mer, Saint-Lyphard, Kerhinet and Pénestin have been awarded the Tourism and Disability label. Spread throughout the region, they offer accessible, comfortable and easy-to-navigate facilities. Nearby parking spaces, clear signposting and adapted information material are systematically provided.

In our offices, you’ll find reception conditions designed to make everyone comfortable. Depending on the layout of the premises, an accessible and quiet counter is available. Equipment such as magnetic loops, sound amplification, reading magnifiers and adapted documentation facilitate access to information. Enlarged-print material is available, as is a Braille brochure, personalised to suit the municipality visited.

Accessible guided tours

The accessibility of our guided tours is a priority. Most of our tour guides are trained in welcoming and accompanying people with disabilities. When booking, we recommend that you indicate your specific needs so that we can adapt the itinerary, content and materials. Most of the routes are accessible and have been tested with volunteers from the Association des Paralysés de France.

In addition, equipment can be made available by prior arrangement : electric wheelchair, seat-stick, sound amplification system with induction headphones, reading magnifier. Some tours offer tactile, olfactory or thermo-inflated aids. Audio guides with audio description are available, particularly for La Baule-les-Pins. A video also allows visitors to explore the ramparts of Guérande without climbing the steps. On site, reserved parking, adapted sanitary facilities and an identified reception will make your visit easier.

A trained team At your service

Because preparing for your stay is essential, we make tourist accessibility a priority. Our teams regularly attend training courses to better understand your needs and provide you with appropriate solutions.

In several of the region’s tourist offices, including La Baule, Le Pouliguen, Guérande, La Turballe, Piriac-sur-Mer, Mesquer-Quimiac and Pénestin, advisors are trained in French sign language. Levels of training vary, and we are continuing this commitment to progress and provide you with the best possible support throughout your stay.
