    Yes,the Arzal dam can be crossed all year round, but it may be temporarily closed to traffic when the locks are opened for boats to pass through. These manoeuvres generally last around twenty minutes, but can take a little longer on sunny days, depending on the number of boats.   • Can you cycle to the Arzal dam?

    Yes, that’s right! The Arzal reservoir is accessible to cyclists and is a key link between Camoël and Arzal. A safe cycle path runs alongside the road, offering superb views over the Vilaine. This is a pleasant route in the Vélocéan network, linking the banks of the Vilaine to Pénestin and the Atlantic coast.

    No. Swimming is not permitted in the Vilaine, due to currents, water level variations and river traffic around the dam. However, the beaches of Pénestin and Assérac, just a few kilometres away, offer superb, safe bathing areas, perfect for extending your discovery of the area.
