Férel between nature and the Vilaine skyline

Situated between the sea and the countryside, Férel is an inviting place to relax and discover. Quiet, authentic and lush, this commune on the banks of the Vilaine River is a delight to visit, with its beautiful landscapes and rich network of paths.

Getting there

nature in its purest form

Just a stone’s throw from its neighbour La Roche-Bernard, Férel, a commune in Brittany’s Morbihan region, has a captivating natural setting and a special link with the Vilaine river.

Between the Breton bocage and the tranquil banks of the river, the commune offers the ideal backdrop for taking a breather and enjoying nature. There are numerous viewpoints over the river, accessible on foot or by bike, perfect for a photo stop or a quiet moment. The nearby marina and the Arzal dam complete the picture, providing practical reference points for visitors.

Not far away, in the heart of the village, the church of Notre-Dame de Bon Garant contains some remarkable and rare heritage features, including the stained glass window of the Tree of Jesse, dating from the 16th century and listed as a Monument Historique.

Take a breath, drive, walk

In Férel, walking and cycling enthusiasts will find plenty to do on the many paths that run alongside the Vilaine and through the surrounding countryside. From family-friendly loops to challenging routes for experienced cyclists, each route offers a variety of views of the river, meadows and picturesque little ports.
