The Parks and Forests of La Baule

Ajouter aux favoris

In La Baule, the parks and forests offer a welcome respite between the ocean and the city. People come here to walk in the shade of the pine trees, to slow down and enjoy nature at its best, whatever the season.

The Escoublac forest a breath of fresh air

Between the sea and the dunes, the Escoublac forest extends over more than 600 hectares and is one of the great green lungs of the coastline. Its sandy paths wind through maritime pines and holm oaks, in an atmosphere that changes with the seasons. People come here to walk, run, take a quiet break or enjoy the fitness trail.

Some paths lead up to the heights of the second highest dune in France, with occasional glimpses of the Bay of La Baule. Easy to get to, it’s a popular spot for families and nature lovers alike, just a stone’s throw from the town centre.

Alder wood from calm to Christmas lights

The Bois des Aulnes is renowned for its peace and quiet, and invites you to take a walk or cycle in the shade of the trees. It’s a great place to get some fresh air, take a break in the greenery or let the children enjoy the green setting, with its pond and playground equipment.

In winter, the atmosphere changes with Christmas Magic, an eagerly awaited event every year. The wood is transformed into a magical setting, punctuated by illuminations, entertainment and illuminated trails designed with families in mind. It’s a different way of (re)discovering this natural area at dusk, in a friendly atmosphere that marks the festive season in La Baule.

The Dryades park, the open-air show

In the heart of La Baule, the Parc des Dryades offers a green interlude that’s popular all year round. Its shady paths wind between century-old trees, flowerbeds and ponds, in a calm, well-kept atmosphere. People come here to take a leisurely stroll, read on a bench or take a break from the hustle and bustle. The open-air theatre gives the site a real identity, and in fine weather hosts concerts and open-air shows.

In summer, the park comes alive with cultural events. Out of season, it takes on a more peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation, with games available for children. Easy to get to, it’s a natural part of the promenade around La Baule. A simple, elegant place, true to the spirit of the resort.
