At La Baule-Presqu’île de Guérande, events set the pace for local life. Local fetes, culinary events, festivals, family activities or major sporting challenges: each season offers its own share of moments to share. It’s up to you to choose what suits you best!

In winter, the magic happens...

In winter, the peninsula lights up and comes together for some great times. Between the lights, strolls through the town and shared moments, the season offers some great get-togethers to enjoy together.

  • Magical Christmas in La Baule – December
    La Baule lights up to become a veritable Christmas village by the ocean. Stroll along the seafront or through town, hot chocolate in hand, before heading off to the Bois des Aulnes. Glittering Christmas trees, animated characters, enchanting decorations and gourmet chalets create a magical, friendly atmosphere to share with family and friends.
  • The City of Lights in Guérande – December
    When night falls, the streets and ramparts of the medieval town of Guérande light up. Projections and lights reveal the architecture of the place. A pleasant stroll to enjoy with friends and family at dusk.

Spring, events are in full swing!

Spring is the season for getting out and about and the first events are back in the villages. It’s the ideal time of year to get out and about, discover and enjoy the region’s many attractions.

  • Potters’ market in Herbignac – May
    The village is transformed into a meeting place for the curious and the creative. You can take the time to touch the materials, talk to the craftsmen and sometimes… leave with the piece that suits you best.
  • GuérandeMedieval Festival – June
    Over the course of a weekend, the walled city rediscovers the colours of yesteryear. Music, medieval costumes, encampments, laughter and brass bands… Cross the ramparts and step back in time for a few hours.
  • Jumping International de La Baule – June
    An elegant and vibrant event overlooking the bay. The sound of hooves, the precision of movements, the emotion of the stands: equestrian excellence just a stone’s throw from the ocean.

In summer, everything comes to life: festivals, celebrations, concerts, open-air events, etc.

The days are long, the evenings are long and events are taking place everywhere. It’s the season for getting out and about and sharing moments together.

  • La Baule Film and Music Festival – June
    The festival offers screenings, discussions with film professionals and concerts based on film soundtracks. You can attend a screening, meet guests or simply enjoy the atmosphere in town. An accessible cultural event.
  • Festi’Vent in La Turballe – June
    The beach is filled with colourful kites. You can walk around, watch demonstrations and take part in workshops. It’s a great way to spend time outdoors with family and friends.
  • Les Nuits Salines in Batz-sur-Mer – June
    For a few days, the square and alleyways come alive with open-air concerts. It’s a great way to meet up, listen to the music and enjoy the warm evening in a friendly atmosphere.
  • Threshing Festival in Saint-Molf – August
    This festival showcases the farming practices of yesteryear, with demonstrations of local tools and know-how. Discover, exchange and enjoy the village atmosphere.
  • Art au Gré des Chapelles in Camoël – September
    Artists exhibit their work in the village chapels. Stroll from place to place, look around, take your time. A calm and accessible experience.
  • Fête de la Mer in Mesquer – September
    This festival celebrates the maritime life and traditions of the port. There’s entertainment and boats pass through the harbour. It’s a great way to discover the atmosphere of the coastline.

In autumn, celebrating local flavours and sport

In autumn, the light changes and the events take on a different colour.
Between the flavours of the season and major sporting events, it’s an ideal time to enjoy the region in a different way.

  • Audencia Triathlon in La Baule – Late September
    This event brings together amateur and professional athletes on the bay. You can follow the races from the beach or the embankment in an encouraging and accessible atmosphere.
  • Flavours of October – October
    Chefs, producers and food artisans come together to celebrate local cuisine. Workshops, menus, demonstrations and markets give you the chance to discover local produce in a whole new way.
  • Autumn flavours in Pénestin – October
    Producers from Pénestin and the surrounding area present their harvests and specialities. Stroll around the stalls, chat and taste. A local, accessible and friendly outing.
  • Côte d’Amour Marathon in Le Croisic – October
    The race follows the coastline and passes through seascapes. You can cheer on the runners from the shore or the harbour. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the sporting atmosphere.
