Le Croisic The extreme Presqu'île

Le Croisic is a small town of character, with a picturesque port, a wild coastline and a living maritime heritage. Here, sea and stone tell the same story.

Getting there

A city granite and sea spray

Le Croisic, a “Petite Cité de Caractère”, has an authentic charm and a lively harbour. The quayside is an inviting place to stroll, with shops, cafés and views of the colourful boats. Yachting rubs shoulders with professional fishing, which remains at the heart of local life. The langoustine, the treasure of the local fishermen, is particularly prized and renowned for its exceptional quality. Between its architectural heritage and port life, Le Croisic combines elegance, gourmet delights and authenticity on an inspiring coastline.

At the entrance to the port, the 858-metre long ribbon of granite protects the boats from the onslaught of the sea. At its end, the Tréhic lighthouse, installed in 1872, dominates the channel and guides ships, symbolising both safety and the town’s maritime heritage.

Panoramas exceptional

Le Croisic reveals a very natural face, particularly along the Traict du Croisic, a sheltered inlet between the peninsula and the coast, rich in flora and fauna and ideal for birdwatching and fishing.

As the tides change, the landscapes are transformed, offering a changing spectacle of mudflats, dunes and beaches , all protected under Natura 2000. The wild coastline, accessible via the GR® 34, reveals cliffs, unspoilt coves and spectacular ocean views.

Just opposite the port, Pen Bron, a natural setting facing Le Croisic, completes the picture. Depending on the season and the wind, the sea can be soothingly calm or powerfully rough, accentuating the raw, natural beauty of the coastline.
