A cocooning weekend for two on the Presqu’île

Ajouter aux favoris

We felt like taking a break. Nothing spectacular, just two days in the peace and quiet, getting away from it all. So we chose La Baule-Presqu’île de Guérande in winter. No crowds, no noise, just the sea, the fresh air and that pleasant feeling of being a little alone in the world. We put down our suitcases, took a breath and the weekend could begin.

Seaside and a breath of fresh air

As soon as we arrive, we head for the wild coast and its beaches. In winter, they reveal themselves differently: calmer, wider, almost as if they were just waiting for us. The sand is cool under our shoes, the waves are a little more intense and the wind gives us that little bit of energy that does us good. We move forward without hurrying, stopping just to look at the horizon, to exchange a few words or to say nothing at all. Walking in pairs, with no noise around, really changes the pace.

Afterwards, we choose to take shelter and settle down somewhere to enjoy a hot cup of tea, with our hands around the cup. A simple break, ideal after a walk in the fresh air. In La Baule-Presqu’île de Guérande, there’s no shortage of welcoming places to stop and warm up. And as the day draws to a close, you’ll often want to extend the moment over dinner. A convivial table, a soothing atmosphere, dishes that do you good. Here, even an evening meal becomes a pleasant interlude, without overdoing it but just enough to make you feel good.

Salt marshes and a wellness break

The next day, it’s time for a change of scenery. We head for the Guérande salt marshes, which take on a different look out of season. We took a guided tour to find out exactly how this very special landscape works: the role of the basins, the path of the water, the work of the salt worker… It was clear and accessible, and gave us a new way of looking at the marshes. In between explanations, you can watch the birds, spot the play of light and move along at a leisurely pace, under no pressure.

Once you’ve finished your visit, you’ll stay in this gentle atmosphere: thalasso, spa, hammam or massage, the choice is yours. The combination of sea air and enveloping warmth always works. It’s a great way to relax, unwind and let go of the week’s fatigue. This break should be compulsory at least once a season.
