Assérac beachThe 10 gesturesthe responsible beach operator
What if this time you went to the beach and adopted some simple eco-actions?
- I find out about the environmental commitment of the beach I’m going to
- I use shower water sparingly and ban wash products
- I don’t leave any rubbish on the beach, I collect it and use the recycling bins
- If I’m thirsty, I bring my water bottle rather than a plastic one!
- I use organic sun cream to protect the biodiversity of the seabed
- I don’t throw anything in the rainwater drains, otherwise it will all end up in the ocean
- I don’t leave the marked footpaths– the dunes are precious ecosystems
- I leave my car at home and come to the beach by bike, on foot or by public transport.
- I can take part in or organise a rubbish collection thanks to ocean initiatives
- I’ll tolerate sea mud
Fishing on footreasoned
Shells, clams, razor clams, periwinkles, mussels and oysters– our coastline is particularly well-suited to fishing on foot. But before you set off, don’t forget to find out about best practices for preserving the resource and the marine environment. And don’t forget that shellfish are veritable sentinels of the environment: they filter seawater and are therefore able to concentrate many bacteria and viruses. So be sure to follow the health recommendations before putting on your boots!
