A romantic week in winter

A week in winter on the Guérande peninsula: nature, walks, thalassotherapy and discoveries for two.

The essentials of your stay

Winter for two on the Guérande peninsula is a perfect blend of nature, wide open spaces and small pleasures. The villages and harbours are revealed from a different angle, and the coast can be explored on foot or by bike, well covered. The marshes are ideal for wildlife watching or simply breathing in the fresh air. Even in stormy weather, the coast offers a different, invigorating and strikingenergy.

Between outdoor escapades and moments of relaxation and well-being, each day can mix activity and rest at your own pace. The landscapes, local produce and authentic sites provide a varied and rejuvenating experience for just the two of you.

Salt marshes  and winter nature

Start with a stroll through the Guérande salt marshes. In winter, the colours have changed yet again, the calm is complete and the crisp air makes the walk even more breathtaking.

Take a guided tour to find out more about salt and the salt worker’s trade. The winter light enhances the landscapes and provides great photo opportunities.

Wild coast  by bike

The coast between Le Pouliguen and Le Croisic is easy to explore by bike. The cycle paths are safe and allow you to cycle at your own pace. Stop off to explore the beaches, caves or simply breathe in the sea air and enjoy the panoramic views. The wind and fresh air make the ride more dynamic, and the wild landscapes offer a real change of scenery.

The colours of winter and the rough sea give the coastline a raw, authentic feel. Whether you drive a few kilometres or take the time to stroll, this iodised outing for two is a great way to discover the coast and its many panoramic views.

Relaxation  and well-being in La Baule

To recover from an active day, a thalassotherapy break at La Baule is ideal. Massages, hydromassage baths and revitalising treatments let you release tension and enjoy a relaxing moment together.

Whether it’s for half a day or a full day, it’s a simple, pleasant moment that combines comfort, relaxation and sensory pleasure. After the treatments, a coffee or snack overlooking the ocean prolongs the break and prepares you for the next discoveries.

Brière Regional Nature Park  and gastronomy

The Brière Regional Nature Park can be explored along its canals.
A trip on a barge is a great way to enjoy the winter scenery and observe the local wildlife. To round off the trip, a stop at a traditional inn is the perfect way to sample the local produce.

This combination of nature and gastronomy offers simple, gourmet moments. It’s a great way for two to enjoy the Brière, relax and discover the Brière Regional Nature Park.

La Baule  and its Belle Époque villas

In La Baule, strolling through the narrow streets to discover the Belle Époque villas becomes a real architectural walk, which you can complete with the “Villas and architecture” guided tour offered by the Tourist Office.

Not far away, the covered market and its surrounding streets offer numerous cafés and restaurants where you can stop for lunch, a hot chocolate or a gourmet break. You can then take advantage of the boutiques on Avenue De Gaulle for a shopping spree: fashion, home decoration or local specialities, there’s something for everyone and a few souvenirs to take home.

La Turballe  and Pointe de Pen Bron

End the week in La Turballe.

Start with a lunch near the port and sample the local specialities… local fishing and seafood are the order of the day!

A little later, take a walk along the Pointe de Pen-Bron to enjoy the fresh air and panoramic views over Le Croisic and the ocean. The paths are easy, the views spectacular and the wild setting makes for a pleasant and invigorating walk !
